Convert Instagram followers into Email & SMS subscribers

Easily grow your email & SMS lists by running Instagram Giveaways and other campaigns. Typical setup time: 15 minutes.

Before setup, review this case study to see an example flow:

Step 1: Connect Gatsby with Klaviyo or other tools

Step 2: Make sure you're on the Core Plus plan

If you're not sure, follow these steps.

(optional) Step 3: Add SMS Subscribers list

Note: If you're not sure what to put, just copy/paste the same as your main list ID.

Step 4: Brainstorm an Instagram Campaign

Design a simple strategy for Instagram users to know that they should DM you their email or phone number.

Step 4: Create Your DM Auto-Replies in Gatsby

Auto-Reply #1: Triggered by your Keyword

1. In Gatsby, navigate to the left side pane >> Chat >> Auto-Replies >> New Auto-Reply

Fill out the page to look something like this:

Example text for this auto-reply:

"Yay! To finish your entry, reply with your email or phone number and join our list!"

Auto-Reply #2: Triggered by receiving an email address OR phone number

1. In Gatsby, navigate to the left side pane >> Chat >> Auto-Replies >> New Auto-Reply

2. For the first question, choose "DMs"

3. For the second question, toggle the switch on for "Advanced Auto-Reply"

4. In the middle of the page, toggle the switch on for "Require Phone" or "Require Email"

Notice the keyword syncs to Klaviyo so you can segment subscribers by which giveaway they entered and more!

Not in the US or Canada?

SMS is currently only available for US and CA numbers, however you can still use the Advanced Auto-Replies for Email subscribers or to direct your customers to your website or a product page. For the latter, choose the "Link" option instead of "Gatsby Action"
