How to restrict the email capture or sms capture to just specific campaigns or regions
If you have customers DMing you their email address for Support or other use-cases, consider this additional keyword option
To prevent your email or SMS button from auto-replying for Support use-cases, require a keyword to be sent with the email address or phone number.
The keyword would need to be sent in the same DM as the email or phone number in order to trigger the auto-reply.
For the example below, the person would need to send "hi" and their email address together in a DM in order to trigger the "join our list!" reply:
To properly use this, you would just want to update your language in your Instagram Post or Giveaway auto-reply to let them know. For example:
Yay! To enter the giveaway, reply with 'hi' along with your email address. Note:"hi" and your email must be sent together in the same DM. Thanks!
Bonus:
Consider setting up an auto-reply for folks who DM you the keyword and their email separately. So in the example above, if they send "hi" without an email address, remind them to send both the keyword and email together:
Multi-Region Use
If you have multiple Gatsby accounts and multiple Klaviyo accounts, but all connected to the same Instagram account, you'll want to use a regional keyword to designate which region the contact should sync to.
For example the first auto-reply mightbe triggered by the keyword "adventure" and reply with this:
Hey there! Reply with your email address and a regional keyword in the same DM to subscribe and get your welcome discount. Regional Keywords: UK = UK, Germany = DE, France = FR, USA = USA, Rest of Europe or other = EU. So for example, if you're in the UK, reply now including: UK and yourname@gmail.com
Note: you only need to create this initial keyword auto-reply in 1 of your regional Gatsby accounts.
And then you would create an advanced auto-reply in each of your regional Gatsby accounts.
Each of these auto-replies would be triggered by the corresponding regional keyword and their email address. For example, for the UK regional account, it might look like this:
Note: you don't need to add “email address” in the keyword box because that’s picked up automatically when the 'Email Address' button is toggled on.
